The Blog

This page is about the GovTrack Community Blog, shown on the front page of GovTrack, which is written by and for members of the GovTrack community. It's goal is to run thoughtful analysis of legislation and related issues, especially legislation in the news. A quintessential blog post is one that impartially discusses the text and ramifications of a bill in Congress.

Unless you are an expert in a field related to the bill you are reporting on, you are discouraged from advocating a position on whether the bill, in whole, should pass or fail, though certainly the merits of individual portions of the bill are fair game for discussion.

Bloggers

Blogging is open to anyone who wants to spend time writing thoughtful analysis. To get involved, send an email to Josh Tauberer at GovTrack's contact address (listed at the bottom of every GovTrack page). You can submit a post, and if it's OK it will be posted on the blog. (If not I'll try to give you helpful suggestions on how to get it posted.) On your second submission you can get an account on the blog website so you can post directly as little or as much as you like.

If you write on the blog, please add your name here (in alphabetical order by last name please; to edit, click the "edit" tab at the top ---- you may have to create a wiki account first):
